Guarana – Natural Stimulant from the Amazon Jungle
Guarana is a creeping plant that grows in Venezuela and northern Brazil, often called Brazilian cacao. The guarana fruit is the size of a coffee bean, with an orange-red skin. When ripe, it reveals a black seed surrounded by a white layer, creating a visual effect similar to an eye.
According to local myths, guarana has a specific appearance due to its legendary origin. One myth says that the evil spirit Jurupari killed a young boy out of jealousy, and the great god Tupã advised the villagers to plant the boy's eyes, from which grew guarana, a plant that cures many diseases.
Brazilian natives use guarana powder as medicine and consume it from childhood, along with mother's milk, calling it the "elixir of long life". Guarana is valued for its high caffeine content, about twice as much as in coffee, which makes it a natural stimulant with a longer-lasting effect.
Features and benefits:
- High caffeine content: It acts as a natural stimulant, providing long-lasting energy.
- Improves physical endurance: Useful for long-term and physically demanding activities.
- Natural stimulant: The slower release of caffeine prolongs the stimulating effect.
Possible side effects: Guarana is considered a safe food, but it can have side effects due to its high caffeine content, such as sleep disturbance, restlessness, irritability, gastrointestinal problems, anxiety, and increased heart rate. Caffeine from guarana acts as a diuretic, so you can expect to urinate more often. Long-term use can lead to tolerance and a reduction in these effects.
Who should avoid guarana:
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women
- People with depression and anxiety
- People with blood clotting disorders
- People suffering from diarrhea
- People with high blood pressure
- Children
Note: Guarana must not be combined with other stimulants (coffee, alcohol), blood thinners, lithium, sedatives and antidepressants.
Try our guarana and take advantage of its natural stimulating powers, while following the recommendations for safe use.
